Nizhny Novgorod residents were reminded what to do if children swallow small objects.
On May 23, 2026, at 13:21, Society reported that Nizhny Novgorod residents were informed about what to do if a child swallows or inhales a small object. Recommendations from doctors were published by Alexey Nikonov, the editor-in-chief of the medical publication "Statsionar-Press," on his Max channel.
According to him, just in the past week, endoscopist Alexander Dvoryaninov has removed several foreign objects from children. And this is despite the fact that summer vacations have not yet begun.
If a child swallows a foreign object, the doctor strongly recommends staying calm.
"Do not panic, do not try to induce vomiting or push the object down, do not let the child drink or eat. Urgently consult a doctor," advises Dvoryanin.
ENT surgeon Grigory Belozerov also urges parents not to succumb to panic if a child inhales, for example, a small part from a construction set.
"It is important to seek medical help, but do not get worked up and panic yourself and the child. Children sense the mood of adults and arrive at the hospital already full of fear," emphasized the doctor.
