Nizhny Novgorod residents owe almost 100,000,000 rubles for parking.

      May 22, 2026 11:17 Society Since the beginning of 2026, 57,400 drivers in Nizhny Novgorod have received fines for unpaid parking. The total amount of charges reached 96.4 million rubles, reports the website pravda-nn.ru, citing the city department of administrative-technical and municipal control. At the moment, motorists have already transferred 71 million rubles to the budget from the total amount of fines. The most unpaid parking is recorded on Bolshaya Pecherskaya Street, Beketov Street, and on the Verkhnevolzhskaya Embankment. It is there that drivers most often leave their cars without paying for a spot. The issue of fine collection was discussed at a meeting of the permanent commission of the city Duma on municipal property. Thus, in 2025, the revenue plan from unpaid parking and car towing was even exceeded. Deputies proposed to publish data on the amounts of issued fines to discipline drivers and increase the level of parking payments. Currently, there are 110 paid parking zones operating in the city across 81 areas. The department noted that paid parking has helped to relieve traffic and reduce the number of traffic violations.
