May 22, 2026 14:15 Society The head of the Ministry of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Mikhail Puchkov, expressed condolences in connection with the tragedy in the Luhansk People's Republic. On the night of May 22, drones attacked the educational building and dormitory of the Starobelsk Professional College in the LPR. At the time of the strike, 86 students aged 14 to 18 were in the building. As a result of the attack, four people were killed. More than 30 students were injured to varying degrees. Rescuers continue to clear the rubble at the scene.
"My deepest condolences in connection with the terrible tragedy in the Luhansk People's Republic. An attack on an educational institution, a place where children study and live, is a war crime and a method used by terrorists," he wrote on his MAX channel.
Puchkov wished the college staff resilience and the injured students a speedy recovery. Earlier, Puchkov denied restrictions on access to electronic diaries.
