The summer of 2026 will be hotter than the previous one in Nizhny Novgorod.

This is reported by meteorologists from Yandex Weather. Nevertheless, according to specialists' estimates, the upcoming summer will be noticeably hotter than in 2025. Average seasonal temperatures will exceed the climatic norm and last year's values. July may become the warmest month in the last ten years. In June and August, the average monthly figures are also forecasted to be significantly higher than last year's level. The total amount of precipitation for the summer is expected to be within the norm and approximately at last year's level. However, the distribution of rainfall across the months will be uneven. Thus, June may turn out to be the wettest in the last five years, although the excess relative to the climatic norm will be insignificant. In July, the amount of precipitation is forecasted to be 1.5 times greater than the previous year. August, on the contrary, is expected to be drier: rainfall may be 1.5 times less compared to last summer. Recall that on May 20, a new temperature record was set in Nizhny Novgorod: the air warmed up to +30.4 degrees, exceeding the figure from 1934 when thermometers showed +30 degrees.
