"The situation is unacceptable": Kabailo reacted to the fight with the MMA fighter in Dzerzhinsk

      The Minister of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Dmitry Kabailo, commented on the fight involving an athlete from a private club in Dzerzhinsk. He shared his opinion on social media.

      Recall that the incident occurred early in the morning on Tsiolkovsky Avenue. According to the victims, it all started when teenagers began to provoke adult visitors in a local café. Soon, the participants in the conflict decided to settle their differences on the street, where a brutal beating of two men took place.

      One of the victims was hospitalized with multiple fractures of the facial bones and jaw; the man underwent several surgeries. According to the spouses of the victims, the fight was allegedly started by an MMA champion. Additionally, some of the attackers train at a fighting club and even hold the title of candidate for master of sports.

      The relatives of the men also mentioned that representatives of the fighters contacted them and offered money to cover up the incident. A criminal case has been initiated, and the identity of one of the attackers has already been established. He turned out to be a young man who had only joined the club two months ago and has now attracted so much attention.

      Of course, the situation is unacceptable. I don't think it's fair to question the leadership of this particular club regarding the unsportsmanlike behavior of the fighter. But I remind the leaders of all private sports organizations once again: the mental upbringing of athletes is just as important, and often more so, than the physical. Especially when it comes to combat sports, the minister stated.

      Dmitry Kabailo also clarified that not only law enforcement agencies but also the leadership of the regional MMA federation have become involved in the case, which has contacted the clubs where the young man trained. The minister promised to keep the situation updated.
