The Nizhny Novgorod government and "RTK-COD" signed an agreement on the joint development of data center infrastructure in the region.
May 21, 2026 11:09 Economy The government of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the full-cycle service provider "RTK-COD" will join forces to develop the ICT infrastructure of the region. The corresponding cooperation agreement was signed by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, and the general director of "RTK-COD," David Martirosov, during the conference "Digital Industry of Industrial Russia" ("CIPR") on May 20, 2026. The joint work of the parties involves the development of infrastructure in the Nizhny Novgorod region for training and using artificial intelligence, attracting IT specialists from other regions to work in the Nizhny Novgorod ICT sector (which combines IT and communications - ed.), as well as organizing the training of such specialists at the IT campus "NEIMARK" and other educational institutions in the region. In addition, within the framework of the signed agreement, "RTK-COD" will open a support office for its specialists to provide technological support for government services in the Nizhny Novgorod region. "The 'RTK-COD' data center in Nizhny Novgorod is already serving the regional infrastructure. The second phase of construction confirms the growing demand for computing power in the region. Even more importantly, cooperation with 'RTK-COD' is significant for strengthening the human capital of the region by attracting new specialists in the ICT industry. The agreement will allow us to expand the dialogue with the company," emphasized the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin. The partnership also involves expanding the data center using a combined energy supply scheme (electric and gas generation). "The region is implementing large-scale projects in the IT sector, and we are already lacking computing power. Together with 'RTK-COD,' we plan to develop a new mechanism to encourage investments in the construction of data centers in our region," noted the deputy governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Yegor Polyakov. "In Nizhny Novgorod, we are not only engaged in the construction of data centers but are also already providing a full range of IT services, including cloud services, based on them. Thus, the company actively participates in creating not only the physical but also the digital ICT infrastructure of the region, which helps government and commercial organizations in the Nizhny Novgorod region in their daily activities. We are also implementing a joint technological office with the region, which will provide jobs for regional specialists and attract IT personnel from other entities," said the general director of "RTK-COD," David Martirosov. Let us remind you that the XI conference "Digital Industry of Industrial Russia" ("CIPR") is taking place in Nizhny Novgorod from May 18 to 21, 2026.
