      On May 20, 2026, at 10:40 AM, Society. On the evening of May 19, the first direct flight from Serbia landed at Nizhny Novgorod Airport. That same evening, the plane departed back and landed in Belgrade. The mayor of the capital of the Volga region, Yuri Shalabaev, called this event significant for the city and for all who love to travel in his Max channel. He noted that Nizhny Novgorod has long-standing friendly and cultural ties with Serbia, and Nizhny Novgorod and Novi Sad are sister cities.

      "Now the road to friends and partners, to hospitable Serbia, will be fast and comfortable," added Yuri Shalabaev.

      The flights will be operated by Air Serbia on Airbus A319 aircraft twice a week. On Tuesdays, the departure from Nizhny Novgorod is scheduled for 7:30 PM, arriving in Belgrade at 10:30 PM. On Saturdays, the plane will depart at 12:30 AM and arrive in the Serbian capital at 3:30 AM.
