The ambulance's departure to Meshchera turned into a criminal case.

      On May 19, 2026, at 13:35, Incidents The Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case following an attack on ambulance staff in Nizhny Novgorod, as reported by the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia. Earlier, media outlets, citing the State Labor Inspectorate, reported that on May 17, medical workers responded to a call at a house on Sergei Yesenin Street, where they were attacked and suffered bodily injuries. By order of the head of the regional Investigative Committee, Airat Akhmetshin, the investigator of the Kanavinsky investigative department initiated the criminal case. The actions were classified under Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - "Hooliganism." To establish the extent of harm caused to the health of the ambulance staff, forensic medical examinations have been appointed. Investigators are currently conducting a comprehensive set of necessary actions and clarifying all circumstances of the incident. Meanwhile, the Trade Union of Healthcare Workers of the Nizhny Novgorod Region stated that there was no intentional attack on the medical staff. Allegedly, the victims have no claims.
