The best laboratory technician in chemical analysis has been named in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On May 18, 2026, at 10:29, Society In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the results of the regional stage of the All-Russian professional skills competition "Best in the Profession" in the nomination "Laboratory Assistant in Chemical Analysis" were summarized. Specialists from major industrial enterprises in Dzerzhinsk and Kstovo participated in the competition. The winner was Maria Trofimova, representing JSC "Sibur-Neftekhim" (Dzerzhinsk), with 18 years of work experience.

      "The profession of a laboratory assistant in chemical analysis is in demand not only in the chemical industry but also in medicine, ecology, pharmaceuticals, food safety, and scientific research. Dzerzhinsk historically bears the proud title of 'the capital of big chemistry.' Qualified laboratory assistants are particularly in demand at enterprises in the region today. The professional skills competition aims to draw attention to this important, science-intensive, and responsible profession, enhance its prestige, and attract talented youth," noted Igor Pantyukhin, Minister of Demography and Human Capital Development of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      The competitions took place at the Dzerzhinsk Polytechnic Institute from May 12 to 14, where the IV Cluster Championship of Professional Skills of the Nizhny Novgorod region in the competence "Laboratory Chemical Analysis" was also held.

      The competition program included theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical stage consisted of testing and an oral solution of a production case. During the practical part, each participant performed photometric determination of the mass concentration of metal ions according to the approved methodology.

      "The competition tests are designed to fully assess the qualifications of the laboratory assistant: from organizing the workplace and adhering to safety regulations to complex calculations and documenting results. Such competitions demonstrate the real level of training of specialists who ensure the accuracy and reliability of chemical analysis in production on a daily basis," said Elena Vidyaeva, acting director of the Nizhny Novgorod Human Resources Center "Work of Russia."

      Maria Trofimova from JSC "Sibur-Neftekhim" with 18 years of experience in the specialty coped best with the tasks. Second place was taken by Olga Ignatieva (JSC "Sibur-Neftekhim," 16 years of experience). Third place went to Sofia Solyakova (JSC "Sibur-Kstovo," 9 years of experience).

      All participants and experts of the regional stage were awarded diplomas and memorable gifts from the organizers, which recognized their professional skills and contributions to the development of the industry.

      The winner of the regional stage will represent the Nizhny Novgorod region at the all-Russian final. The federal stage in the nomination "Laboratory Assistant in Chemical Analysis" will take place from September 8 to 9 in the Vologda region, in the city of Cherepovets.

      We remind you that in 2025, the All-Russian professional skills competition "Best in the Profession" became part of the federal project "Labor Man" of the national project "Personnel," implemented by the order of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. The best results from the federal stages of the competition receive monetary rewards: 1 million rubles for first place, 500 thousand rubles for second place, and 300 thousand rubles for third place.
