46 "criminal cases" on illegal drug trafficking have been initiated in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On May 18, 2026, at 14:49, Society46 criminal cases in the field of illegal trafficking of controlled substances have been initiated in the Nizhny Novgorod region during the operation "Pit". This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region.

      During this period, law enforcement officers drew up 141 protocols for administrative offenses related to the illegal trafficking of narcotic substances. 53 of them are under Article 6.9 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (consumption of narcotic or psychotropic substances without a doctor's prescription or new potentially dangerous psychoactive substances), and another 40 are under Article 6.9.1 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (evasion of undergoing diagnostics, preventive measures, treatment for drug addiction, medical, social rehabilitation).

      Police also identified 28 individuals involved in such crimes and seized over two kilograms of prohibited and controlled substances. In addition, specialists identified 29 websites on the internet with content related to the trafficking of narcotic substances.
