"Night of Museums - 2026" in Nizhny Novgorod: how it was

      The museums of Nizhny Novgorod participated in the All-Russian event "Museum Night" (12+) on May 16. In the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, the institutions prepared events united by the theme "Native." In the regional capital alone, about 60 diverse venues welcomed guests, with free entry to most. In some places, prior registration was required to attend the events. By the way, some museums had long lines of art lovers on the evening of May 16. In particular, large crowds were observed at the "Arsenal" and the Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum (NGHM). The Nizhny Novgorod branch of the Pushkin Museum (Arsenal) joined the event with the program "Childhood Impressions." For Nizhny Novgorod residents and city guests, free entry was available to the exhibitions "Eternal Baroque. From the 17th to the 21st Century" and "Around Impressionism." In the evening, performances by the Museum's Youth Club could be observed in the halls of NGHM "Russian Art." Meanwhile, at NGHM "Foreign Art," a performance "Living Paintings" was held by the theater studio of Minin University "GEST," and at NGHM "Art of the 20th Century," the theater studio of NGHM Museatrium performed. In the museum courtyard of the Sirotkin House, several showings of the play "Isabella, or the Pot with Basil" (12+) by the Nizhny Novgorod State Puppet Theater took place. Attendance required prior registration. Many were also gathered for the summer route along the Kremlin wall.
