      Nizhny Novgorod specialists found a dangerous pest in a batch of Beijing cabbage from Kazakhstan. This was reported by the press service of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "VNIIZZh".

      A phytosanitary inspection was conducted on May 13. According to the results of the study, the laboratory identified a quarantine object — the Western flower thrips in a viable state. The pest is capable of damaging hundreds of plant species.

      The batch, weighing a total of 19.9 tons, is subject to return to the country of origin or destruction. Earlier, we reported that 64 kg of unsafe dairy products were seized in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
