The Nizhny Novgorod Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case regarding the death of a worker during roof repairs.

      On May 15, 2026, 09:45 Incidents A criminal case has been initiated in the Nizhny Novgorod region following the death of a worker during roof repairs. This was reported by the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia. According to the investigation, on the afternoon of May 13, a worker from the management company was performing roof repairs on an apartment building on Kirova Street in the settlement of Voznesenskoye. During the work, the man fell from a height and sustained fatal injuries. A criminal case has been opened under part 2 of article 143 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - violation of labor protection requirements, resulting in the accidental death of a person. The investigation is being conducted by the investigative department of the closed administrative-territorial formation of Sarov of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region. Investigators are currently establishing all the circumstances of the incident. A legal assessment will also be made of the actions of those responsible for ensuring safety measures during the work. It was previously reported that nearly 12 million rubles were recovered from those responsible for the death of a child in the Kstovo sports complex.
