      More than 150 units of illegal alcoholic products have been seized from illegal circulation as a result of an inspection conducted by employees of the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Counterfeit products were found at a catering establishment in the Avtozavodsky district of Nizhny Novgorod. Administrative offense cases have been initiated. Since the beginning of 2026, Ministry of Industry employees have conducted nine inspections of organizations and individual entrepreneurs. Violations were identified, including the absence of licenses for the sale of alcohol and accompanying documents. Following the inspections, 34 protocols on administrative offenses were drawn up. More than 250 units of illegal products have been seized from illegal circulation, reported the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Maxim Cherkasov. Unscheduled inspections are conducted based on residents' complaints and data analysis from the inter-agency management system in the field of control and licensing developed by the regional Ministry of Industry. Since May 2024, a ban on the sale of alcohol from 11:00 PM to 9:00 AM has been in effect in catering establishments located in residential buildings and adjacent territories in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Since the restriction came into force, 214 establishments specializing in the retail sale of alcoholic products with low consumption culture have closed in the region. Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod Region can send a complaint to the regional Ministry of Industry if they suspect illegal alcohol trading. The inter-agency management system combines data from the Ministry of Industry, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, and the administration of Nizhny Novgorod. It receives information about identified catering and trading points, as well as about houses and apartments where illegal alcohol sales may be taking place. This concerns trading without a license, accompanying documents, and mandatory labeling, as well as the sale of alcohol of unknown origin. This system was first implemented in the country by the regional Ministry of Industry.
