Another almost 1.5 billion rubles will be allocated for the construction of the metro in Nizhny Novgorod.

      May 15, 2026 16:13 Economy Almost 1.5 billion rubles will be additionally allocated for the extension of the metro in Nizhny Novgorod. This follows from the draft amendment to the regional budget for 2026 and the planned period of 2027 and 2028. The document was published on the website of the Legislative Assembly. The main part of the funds is intended for the extension of the Avtozavodskaya line — 1.19 billion rubles is allocated for this purpose. Another 268.6 million rubles will be directed towards the extension of the Sormovo-Meshcherskaya line. Funding will be provided through treasury infrastructure loans. Overall, the regional budget expenditures have increased by 1.9 billion rubles. The adjustments are related to the need for additional funding for infrastructure projects, changes in the Address Investment Program, and clarification of the volume of non-repayable receipts from the federal budget. Taking into account the changes, the budget parameters for 2026 will be: revenues — 337.6 billion rubles (an increase of 470 million), expenditures — 372.6 billion rubles (an increase of 1.9 billion), deficit — 34.9 billion rubles (an increase of 1.45 billion rubles). It was previously reported that the metro stations at Sennaya and Svobody squares are planned to be put into operation by August 2027. At the end of 2025, it became known that an additional 12.4 billion rubles would be allocated for the extension of the Avtozavodskaya line, of which 7.4 billion rubles are planned for 2026.
