      From May 1 to May 10, employees of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance stopped seven attempts to illegally import livestock products through Nizhny Novgorod airport. Violations were detected during the inspection of luggage and carry-on bags of passengers arriving from Uzbekistan. This was reported by the agency's press service.

      As a result, specialists discovered seven batches of prohibited products. This included dairy products weighing a total of three kilograms and honey weighing about 11.5 kilograms. All products were homemade, without factory packaging, labeling, and veterinary accompanying documents, which contradicts the unified veterinary and sanitary requirements.

      Acts were drawn up for all the facts. The owners refused to return the products to the country of origin, so they were seized and destroyed. During this period, a total of 34 flights were checked at the international airport. In parallel with the luggage inspection, specialists conducted veterinary control of three pets - cats and dogs - traveling to Turkey, Serbia, and Armenia. The owners were issued the necessary documents in accordance with the requirements of the destination countries.
