      The results of the professional skills competition for the title of "Best Janitor" following the spring cleaning were summarized in Nizhny Novgorod. As reported by the city's Department of Housing and Engineering Infrastructure, the best janitors in their districts were chosen by the residents themselves, who voted for them on the "Lobachevsky" platform. Following the voting, a special commission inspected the best adjacent territories and selected the winner.

      As stated by the city head Yuri Shalabaev, the Lenin district once again confirmed its leadership: just like in the winter competition, the victory went to their representative. "If in winter the best was Mikhail Morozov, who cleans the yard on Bauman Street, now the best is Polina Sheludyayeva, who is responsible for houses 20-26 on July Days Street. In second and third places are janitors from the Nizhny Novgorod and Sormovo districts: Mansurjon Jalilov and Vyacheslav Egorov. "As part of the competition, the commission inspects the area assigned to the janitor, checks the quality of cleaning, including the condition of flower beds, benches, trash bins, playgrounds, and finds out how residents evaluate their work. The condition of container and sports grounds is also checked. This year, the Kstovo district joined the city competition: one of their janitors already participated in the winter part of the competition, and a participant from the district is also registered for the spring," said Sergey Tamarov, head of the housing fund operation department of the Nizhny Novgorod administration, deputy chairman of the commission.

      According to the competition winner Polina Sheludyayeva, she has been working as a janitor for 19 years and is currently employed on July Days Street, 20-26. "I come to work at six in the morning: first I collect garbage, then I sweep the paths, and I keep an eye on the order at the container site. I try to do everything thoroughly and with soul. When work is a joy, it’s pleasant for me - the work goes smoothly and the residents are satisfied," she said. Residents of the houses admit that they are not surprised by Polina Alekseevna's victory in the competition and are proud of her. "Our janitor is a very responsible person; we have no complaints about her work. She works in any weather: in snow, in rain - our yard is always perfectly clean. Our only wish is for Polina Alekseevna to continue working in our yard," shared resident of the Lenin district Olesya Kurneva.

      Janitor from the Avtozavodsky district Natalia Chislova, who maintains cleanliness in the yard of the house on Youth Avenue, 35, received fifth place in the competition. "I really love to plant flowers and take care of greenery, and the residents help me a lot with this. I have been working as a janitor for 15 years: I know everyone who lives in the house. Many children have grown up before my eyes - I see them going to school every morning. I communicate with all the residents, and many of us are friends: we plant seedlings and flowers together. I can say that we are all like one big family!" she said.

      Kstovo janitor Maria Romanova admitted that "she cannot sit idle." "For me, work is life. I am used to cleaning, tidying up, and putting things in order from the very morning. There is a lot of work - in my area, there are six houses in the 3rd microdistrict: I need to tidy the lawns, collect garbage, trim the bushes, and plant flowers. Residents treat me well: the kids going to kindergarten always greet me, and the adults do too. I am very satisfied," shared the janitor. "Our janitor is excellent! I have lived here for 40 years and have never seen a better janitor. I leave for work early in the morning - she is already sweeping the yard. In winter, our yard is always clean and tidy," said Kstovo resident Vladimir.
