The semifinal of the contest "This is a Family Matter" will take place in Ufa.
From May 11 to 14, 2026, Ufa will host the regional semifinal of the "This is a Family Matter" competition for families from the Volga Federal District. More than 1,500 participants from over 280 families will compete for a chance to reach the final of the presidential platform project "Russia — a Land of Opportunities."
The semifinal will feature teams from three generations representing all 14 regions of the Volga Federal District: the Republic of Bashkortostan, Mari El, Mordovia, Tatarstan, Udmurtia, Chuvashia, Kirov, Nizhny Novgorod, Orenburg, Penza, Samara, Saratov, Ulyanovsk regions, and Perm Krai.
The opening ceremony will take place on May 11. On May 12 and 13, participants will undergo intellectual, sports, and creative challenges united by the theme "Being a Family." The competition day will begin with an intellectual quiz "Knowledge.Game" from the Russian Society "Knowledge." Some tasks will focus on Russia's cultural code.
On May 14, a meeting is scheduled with science fiction writer and member of the competition's Supervisory Board Sergey Lukyanenko, as well as a ceremony to summarize the results, where the winning families of the semifinal will be announced.
The winners will represent their regions in the final, which will take place in July 2026 in Moscow. They will compete for 60 certificates worth 5 million rubles each for improving their living conditions. The finalists will also receive family trips. The names of the winners will be announced on July 8, 2026, on the Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity.
In the second season of the competition, 726,191 people from 196,576 families participated, including 140,192 people — 39,154 family teams — from the Volga Federal District. The "This is a Family Matter" competition is part of the national project "Family."
The presidential platform "Russia — a Land of Opportunities" was created at the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on May 22, 2018. The platform unites projects for residents of all regions of Russia and representatives from over 150 countries around the world.
