      Employees of the migration department of police department No. 4 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Nizhny Novgorod, together with district police officers, uncovered the fact of fictitious registration of two foreign citizens. A 52-year-old unemployed woman from Nizhny Novgorod registered the foreigners at an apartment on Krasny Zory Street, knowing full well that they would not actually reside at the specified address. For her criminal activities, she received a monetary reward. Criminal cases have been initiated regarding this fact under the signs of a crime stipulated by Article 322.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fictitious registration of a foreign citizen). The suspect has been placed under a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave and to behave properly. The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of a fine of up to 500,000 rubles or up to 5 years of imprisonment. The police of Nizhny Novgorod remind that the registration of foreign citizens must be carried out in strict accordance with the law. Violating these rules entails administrative and criminal liability. It is important to know: fictitious registration of a foreign citizen at a residential address entails criminal liability (Article 322.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Similar actions in non-residential premises are classified as an administrative offense under Part 2 of Article 19.27 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation.
