Victory Day was celebrated in Nizhny Novgorod: without a parade, but with respect for history.

      On May 9, 2026, at 20:16 Society, festive events took place in Nizhny Novgorod on Victory Day, covering various venues. A solemn ceremony of laying flowers at the Eternal Flame was held on the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin. The main heroes of this holiday—veterans, as well as the top officials of the city and region, cadet corps students, Suvorov school students, and volunteers—were present at the event. A march of units from the Nizhny Novgorod garrison took place on the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin. Throughout the day, residents came to the Eternal Flame to honor the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. In the "Switzerland" park, a festive program was prepared with a military-historical reconstruction of episodes from the war, an exhibition of weapons, traditional soldier's porridge from a field kitchen, and a concert by the band "Va-Bank" featuring Alexander F. Sklyar. At the end of the festive day, a public concert "Military Songs by the Kremlin" took place in Victory Park, where well-known compositions were performed by professional artists and participants who passed the casting.
