In Krasnye Baki, the Eternal Flame was solemnly lit in memory of those who died in 1941-1945, the regional government press service reported. Members of the United Russia party, veterans of the Special Military Operation, volunteers, youth organization activists, and local residents participated in the ceremony. State Duma Deputy Artem Kavinov noted that the "We Keep the Flame of Victory" campaign unites the entire country. The flame was lit in the Nizhny Novgorod region and in 11 other regions, from Belgorod to Dagestan and Krasnodar Krai. At the initiative of United Russia, gas was supplied to 563 memorials across Russia, and since 2022, at the instruction of President Vladimir Putin, its supply for Eternal Flames has been provided free of charge. "Looking at the flame, each of us remembered the price of Victory, which cannot be expressed in any numbers," he said, emphasizing that as long as this flame burns, the memory lives on, gratitude remains, and our Victory is alive. Activists of the People's Front brought a piece of the flame from Moscow from the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier as part of the "Flame of Memory" campaign. Head of the Krasnobakovsky District Anton Bykov reported that in 2025, for the 80th anniversary of Victory, a memorial was opened and a temporary flame was lit. Throughout the year, the local administration, together with Gazprom, implemented a project for the permanent connection of the Eternal Flame. "The Eternal Flame is indeed a living bridge connecting eras and generations. The party is doing everything possible to ensure that the memory of the feat remains not just words, but a tangible reality: we carefully preserve memorials, engage youth in patriotic work, and support defenders of the Fatherland and their families. Today we lit the Eternal Flame in Krasnye Baki, but our main task is much deeper—to keep this flame in the hearts of people, to pass on the baton of historical truth and love for the Fatherland to our children for many decades to come," emphasized Dmitry Filipenko, head of the regional executive committee of United Russia. The goal of the "We Keep the Flame of Victory" campaign is to make the flame "eternal" at memorials by converting them to network natural gas and ensuring the reliable operation of the equipment. The "We Keep the Flame of Victory" campaign, initiated by Vladimir Putin, is conducted by Gazprom Mezhregiongaz in collaboration with United Russia.
