The application process for the Nizhny Novgorod Award starts on May 10.

      Starting from May 10, the acceptance of applications for the Nizhny Novgorod Award begins. Annually, on the eve of City Day, Mayor Yuri Shalabaev presents it to authors and teams whose contributions to the development and popularization of the city have been particularly significant. This was reported by the city’s Department of Culture. As specialists noted, the maximum allowable group of authors, as in the previous year, is 10 people. At the same time, only individuals can be applicants. The amount of one award is 1 million rubles. The Nizhny Novgorod Award in 2026 will be presented in 16 nominations:

      - Education;

      - Science and higher education;

      - Parental education;

      - Medicine;

      - Entrepreneurship and industry;

      - Innovations and digital technologies;

      - Author's work in the field of art;

      - Enlightenment in the field of culture;

      - Local history;

      - Tourism;

      - Architecture, design, and improvement of public spaces;

      - Ecology and environmental protection;

      - Media and social media;

      - Social projects: volunteering and charity;

      - Sports and a healthy lifestyle;

      - Cultural and artistic events.

      Let us remind you that in 2025, 127 projects were nominated for the Nizhny Novgorod Award. Mayor Yuri Shalabaev presented them to specialists and teams whose contributions to the development of the native city were highly appreciated by experts. Groups of authors of 20 winning projects received 1 million rubles each.
