      May 7, 2026 18:30 Incidents A criminal case has been initiated against the head of the information technology department of JSC "Arzamas Machine Engineering Plant". He is accused of commercial bribery. Illegal activities were identified and suppressed by employees of the regional FSB office in conjunction with the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to the investigation, the manager ensured the conclusion of purchase and sale contracts for material assets between the enterprise and a specific firm. At the same time, he limited the participation of other organizations, excluding competitive offers. For facilitating the conclusion of contracts, the director of the firm transferred him more than 800 thousand rubles. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Nizhny Novgorod region has initiated a criminal case on the signs of a crime provided for in paragraph "g" of part 7 of article 204 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The court has chosen a preventive measure for the accused in the form of detention. It was previously reported that the former speaker of the Nizhny Novgorod Duma and former director of the Arzamas Instrument Engineering Plant, Oleg Lavrichev, had his sentence tightened. In addition to the six years of a general regime colony and a fine of 1.8 million rubles, a ban on holding managerial positions in commercial organizations of the defense industry complex for two years was added. Along with Lavrichev, the former head of the legal department of the plant, Svetlana Smirnova, was found guilty of embezzlement and fraud.
