More than 600 kilometers of roads will be updated in the Nizhny Novgorod region as part of the national project.

      May 7, 2026 19:30 Society The 2026 Road Campaign within the framework of the national project "Infrastructure for Life" has begun in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported by the Main Department of Automobile Roads of the region. Contracting organizations have already started work on 15 sections with a total length of 168.6 kilometers. Simultaneously, reconstruction, major repairs, and ongoing maintenance are being carried out on 12 facilities with artificial structures - bridges and overpasses. Their total length is 713 linear meters. Significant progress has already been made on several projects. For example, on the roads "B. Arya - B. Krasnogor - Sodomovo - B. Kozlyana - Karpunikha" and "Shakhunya - Tumanyno - Fad'ka - Malinovsky," the foundation has been strengthened using the recycling method - cold restoration of asphalt concrete. This has significantly increased the strength of the road structure. The leveling layer of asphalt concrete has been completely laid on ten sections. Work is nearly complete on the roads "Krutoy Maidan - Salaley" and "Semenov - Kovernino." A high degree of readiness is also noted for the approaches to the village of Ivanovskoye from the "Rabotki - Poretskoye" highway, to the route Gorny Borok - Slobodskoye - Dokukino from M-7 "Volga," as well as to the workers' settlement Sukhobezvodnoye from the road "Nizhny Novgorod - Shakhunya - Kirov." In 2026, state contracts for the repair of 125 road network facilities have been concluded under the national project. More than 600 kilometers of roads are planned to be brought to a normative state. The total cost of the contracts amounts to 21 billion rubles. All work is being carried out in accordance with the approved schedules. The repairs are expected to be completed and the facilities put into operation by the end of September 2026. Contractors are already involved in almost all key projects. This year, special attention is being paid to a comprehensive approach: in addition to updating the asphalt surface, the installation of barrier fences and road signs is planned, as well as the improvement of public transport stops.
