The Nizhny Novgorod boarding school for war and labor veterans received new equipment.
Zoya Ivanovna was born in Rzhev in 1939. During the war, she experienced the German occupation. Today she is 87 years old. A resident of the veterans' home for war and labor is preparing to receive new equipment. As a medic, she understands the importance of such an acquisition. Zoya Firsova, a resident of the GBU "Nizhny Novgorod Home for Veterans of War and Labor": "These are beds that do not need to be lifted; they are all automatic. The patient can turn over by themselves; they are functionally very good. It is easy for the medical staff. And we care not only about the patients but also about the medical staff. There are not that many of them." Here are those very beds. The institution received 28 of them. Each has handles to make it easier for patients to get up and special equipment for adjusting positions. Even a person with one hand can manage such a bed. Anna Krutkova, a social work specialist at GBU "Nizhny Novgorod Home for Veterans of War and Labor": "With one button, they can change their body position and lower it as well. So throughout the day, they can adjust their body position themselves: higher, lower, when to eat, and when to have some procedures." In the psychologist's office, there is equipment for maintaining cognitive health. This set of 8 modules contains various shapes to activate attention, visual, and tactile memory. Vitaly Gordeev, a correspondent: "And this is a reaction speed trainer. The task is to press as many of these blocks as possible in a short time." The purchase of the equipment was made possible with the support of the "Memory of Generations" fund. Elnora Lysova, head of the targeted programs implementation department of the charitable fund "Memory of Generations": "For 11 years, we have been providing targeted systemic assistance to veterans of the Great Patriotic War, those equated to them, and all veterans of other combat operations. We always conduct a tender procedure. We select one licensed supplier who will carry out the delivery." Evgeny Smirnov, director of GBU "Nizhny Novgorod Home for Veterans of War and Labor": "Our residents, grandmothers and grandfathers, received this with great joy. For them, this is happiness. We did all this in three weeks, literally very quickly." Creating conditions for active longevity is a key goal of the national projects "Family" and "Sustained and Active Life." Vadim Tsyganov, acting minister of social development and family policy of the Nizhny Novgorod region: "The equipment was inspected, and it was inspected together with the veterans. We also considered rehabilitation issues, using modern practices and approaches. They are indeed very important to ensure a decent standard of living." The new equipment became a gift for the residents of the home for the holiday of the Great Victory.
