The third class of fire hazard has been established in six districts of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On May 3, 2026, at 09:15 Society In the Nizhny Novgorod region, on May 2, 2026, the 2nd, and in some places, the 3rd class of fire hazard was established in the forests. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Forestry, citing the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Upper Volga Hydrometeorological Center." The 2nd class is fully in effect in 40 municipal formations. These include the urban districts of Arzamas, Vyksa, Dzerzhinsk, Kulebaki, Nizhny Novgorod, Sarov, as well as the municipal districts of Bor, Chkalovsk, Shakhunya, Ardatovsky, Balakhna, Bogorodsky, Bolshie Boldino, Vadsky, Varnavinsky, Vachsky, Vetluzhsky, Voznesensky, Volodarsky, Vorotynsky, Voskresensky, Gorodetsky, Dalenekonstantinovsky, Diveyevsky, Knyagininsky, Koverninsky, Krasnobakovsky, Lyskovsky, Navashinsky, Pavlovsky, Perevozsky, Pochinkovsky, Semyonovsky, Sechenovsky, Sokolskiy, Sosnovsky, Tonkinsky, Tonshayevsky, Uren and Sharangsky districts. The 2nd class is partially established in Pervomaysk, as well as in the Gaginsky, Lukoyanovsky, and Shatkovsky districts.

At the same time, the 3rd class of fire hazard is partially recorded in six municipal districts: Bolshimurashkinsky, Buturlinsky, Krasnooktyabrsky, Pilninsky, Sergachsky, and Spassky. Ground patrols of the forests are conducted depending on weather conditions along approved routes as part of the forest fire extinguishing plan and state assignment. Reports of fires are requested to be made to the forest protection hotline at 8(800)100−94−00 or to the regional dispatch service at 8(831)430−01−23. Recall that the fire hazard season in the forests of the southern part of the region started on April 24, and in the northern areas on April 30.
