More than 76 thousand residents of Nizhny Novgorod have applied for "Zarnitsa 2.0".

      More than 76,000 schoolchildren and students from secondary vocational education organizations in the Nizhny Novgorod region have submitted applications to participate in the All-Russian military-patriotic game "Zarnitsa 2.0" of the Movement of the Firsts and have completed the tasks of the first stage. The project is being implemented as part of the national project "Youth and Children." In the region, the organizers are the Movement of the Firsts and the All-Russian Public Movement "Yunarmiya" with the support of the Ministry of Youth Policy and the Ministry of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod region. As noted by the Minister of Youth Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Svetlana Anufrieva, the game is aimed at fostering civic responsibility and developing the physical and personal qualities of the participants. The Chairman of the Council of the regional branch of the Movement of the Firsts in the Nizhny Novgorod region, Vyacheslav Amosov, emphasized the importance of teamwork and passing the competitive stages to reach the final. The head of the staff of the regional branch of the All-Russian Public Movement "Yunarmiya" in the Nizhny Novgorod region, Aidar Rizattdinov, thanked the participants and wished success to the teams continuing the fight. Registration for participation started on February 23, 2026, on the official project website. Participants aged 7 to 23, including schoolchildren, students of vocational education organizations, and pedagogical universities under the Ministry of Education of Russia, are allowed to participate in the game. In 2026, qualifying, municipal, divisional, regional, and district stages are planned. The divisional stage will involve 1,780 people — 178 teams from 48 urban and municipal districts of the Nizhny Novgorod region and nine districts of Nizhny Novgorod. The winners of the divisional stage in each age category will advance to the regional stage. The winners of the regional stage in the middle, senior, and special categories will represent the region at the district stage. For the senior category, it will take place in the format of district gatherings from June to August. The final of the game is scheduled for August-September 2025. Since 2025, by the order of President Vladimir Putin, the national project "Youth and Children" has been in effect in Russia, which combines the tasks of previously implemented national projects "Education" and "Science and Universities." It aims to create conditions for the development of talents and self-realization of young people, support for educators, and modernization of educational infrastructure.
