Three schools will be built in Nizhny Novgorod by 2030.

      On April 28, 2026, at 15:45, NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" - Maria Orlova reported that three new schools are planned to be built in Nizhny Novgorod between 2028 and 2030 with the involvement of federal funding. This was announced by Mayor Yuri Shalabaev during a city council meeting while answering questions from deputies, as reported by a correspondent from NIA "Nizhny Novgorod."

      According to the mayor, the facilities will be constructed as part of the national project "Youth and Children." New schools will be established in the Avtozavodsky, Moskovsky, and Kanavinsky districts. In total, they will accommodate nearly three thousand students.

      "Additionally, as part of the interaction with the regional budget and participation in the targeted investment program, an additional building for 500 places will be attached to school No. 103 in the Nizhny Novgorod district," said the mayor.

      Currently, five kindergartens are under active construction, mainly in new residential areas. They are being built as part of the federal project "Support for Families" within the national project "Family."

      Yuri Shalabaev also noted that in the future, the comprehensive development program for territories includes the construction of another 12 schools and 23 kindergartens. Work has already begun on two kindergartens. The mayor added that in 2025, a kindergarten for 280 places was put into operation in the Kstovsky district through the KRT mechanism.

      The city head reminded that last year, a new school No. 189 opened in the "Zenit" residential complex, as well as two buildings of schools No. 188 and No. 96. In total, they provided the city with more than 3000 educational places.

      Alongside the construction of new facilities, the existing institutions are being updated. Last year, major repairs were carried out in ten schools and kindergartens, and the food blocks and cafeterias in all schools in Nizhny Novgorod were fully modernized.

      Additionally, a new center for additional education was opened last year - a branch of the Chkalov Palace of Children's Creativity. More than 600 children are engaged in technical directions, as well as in a theater studio, animation studio, and other groups.
