The bus station in Arzamas is closing: how buses will operate from May 1.

This was announced by the head of the district, Alexander Shchelokov, on social media. After the closure, suburban routes will be redirected to new transport interchange hubs created based on the Arzamas-1 and Arzamas-2 railway stations. Corresponding agreements were reached with the regional Ministry of Property, the carrier (APAT), and Russian Railways (RZD).

      According to Shchelokov, the transition to the new transportation scheme was carefully worked out. For several months, specialists analyzed the routes together with local enterprises and took into account residents' suggestions. "The goal is the same in any case - the development of urban transport infrastructure, convenience and comfort for passengers, and connecting suburban transport to city transport," he noted. The new transport interchange hubs are equipped with modern waiting areas and navigation, and also meet increased safety requirements. Meanwhile, the old bus station no longer meets the service quality requirements or the current passenger flow.
