The production of butter in the Nizhny Novgorod region has increased by more than 60%.
April 27, 2026 19:26 Economy According to the results of the first two months of 2026, the Nizhny Novgorod region has recorded an increase in food production. The physical volume index for food and processing enterprises reached 105.9%. In the beverage segment, the figure reached 117.9%, reported the regional Ministry of Agriculture. The Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the region, Nikolai Denisov, stated that the most significant growth compared to the same period last year was demonstrated by butter. Its production increased by more than 60% and amounted to 1.8 thousand tons. According to the minister, cheese production grew by almost 26%—to 1.9 thousand tons. The volume of poultry meat and offal production increased by 20% and approached 13 thousand tons. Nearly nine thousand tons of meat semi-finished products were produced, which is 8% more than last year's figure. The production of sausage products reached 16.5 thousand tons, an increase of 6.4%, while confectionery products amounted to 7.9 thousand tons with a growth of 2.7%. In January and February, enterprises in the industry produced and shipped products worth a total of 37.2 billion rubles. Of this, 31.5 billion rubles accounted for food products, and another 5.7 billion rubles for beverages. In monetary terms, the growth compared to the same period last year was 4.5%.
