More than 6,700 schoolchildren and students from Nizhny Novgorod participated in the career guidance project of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation.

On April 28, 2026, 11:24 Society More than 6,700 Nizhny Novgorod students and pupils from grades 6-11 participated in the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation's youth career guidance project in the first quarter of 2026. As part of the project, schoolchildren and students meet potential employers, visit Nizhny Novgorod enterprises, and can also receive individual employment assistance plans by contacting any employment center. Organizations in the region that need qualified personnel will eventually receive trained and motivated employees. "The career guidance project was developed by the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation to help young people with professional self-determination and employment in their home region. The Nizhny Novgorod employment center assists young people at all stages of their career path: from choosing a profession and looking for part-time work to landing their first permanent job. We are already seeing interest in the project at the very beginning of its implementation: over 6,700 schoolchildren and students became participants in the first quarter. We expect that by the end of the year, it will reach about 19,000 people. Of course, in shaping the program, we take into account the forecast of regional labor needs for the coming years," said the Deputy Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region, Yegor Polyakov. From January to March 2026, consultants from the Nizhny Novgorod employment center "Work of Russia" conducted over 350 career guidance events for young people: career and business lessons, quizzes, forums, and job fairs. There was great interest in professional tours of enterprises and organizations in the region. Schoolchildren learned about in-demand professions: rescuer, police officer, welder, metal cutter, stamper, car repairman, seamstress, tailor, designer, hairdresser, and others. Students on excursions familiarized themselves with the work of enterprises, equipment, and technological processes, learned about professional internship programs and in-demand specialties. "Choosing a profession is one of the most important decisions in life. The project's task is not just to introduce young people to the labor market but to provide them with a real tool for building a career in their home region. We want college and university graduates to come to enterprises as ready specialists, not as newcomers requiring complete retraining. Today, we are focusing on synchronizing the interests of young people and the labor needs of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Each participant receives targeted support—from career guidance testing to assistance in employment," noted the Minister of Demography and Human Capital Development of Nizhny Novgorod Region, Igor Pantyukhin. Employment center consultants conduct professional testing and social adaptation training, assist with resume writing and interview preparation, and help find suitable jobs, including temporary employment. "We help young people take their first confident steps in their careers. Young people not only gain their first work experience and earnings but also try themselves in different fields, which helps them consciously approach the choice of their future profession. Thanks to a wide range of services, we can tailor an individual route for each young person," said acting director of the Nizhny Novgorod employment center "Work of Russia," Elena Vidyaeva. All available support measures are collected in the "Services for Youth" section on the unified digital platform "Work of Russia." You can clarify information about the project and the possibility of participation in it at any branch of the employment service of Nizhny Novgorod Region by calling the unified number: 8 (831) 410-41-41 or in the official group of the institution on the social network "VKontakte." Recall that since 2025, a national project "Personnel" has been in effect in Russia by order of President Vladimir Putin. It includes four federal projects: "Labor Market Management," "Active Employment Assistance Measures," "Education for the Labor Market," and "Labor Person." The activities of the national project are aimed at qualitatively and promptly preparing personnel according to the needs of employers through coordinated work of educational institutions, companies, and the state.
