Nizhny Novgorod's "Chaika" lost the first game of the Kharlamov Cup semifinals.

      April 25, 2026 15:49 SportsNizhny Novgorod's "Chaika" began the semifinal series of the Kharlamov Cup with a loss. In the opening match (6+), the team played in Yaroslavl against "Loko" and lost with a score of 4:5.

      The hosts opened the scoring, but the Nizhny Novgorod team quickly restored parity. Makar Opolinsky scored on a power play with a precise shot from the blue line — 1:1.

      In the second period, "Loko" took advantage of a numerical advantage and took the lead. But once again, "Chaika" responded with a goal: Kirill Svishchev scored. However, towards the end of the period, the Yaroslavl team took the lead again — 3:2.

      In the third period, the hosts intensified their pressure and scored twice against the Nizhny Novgorod goal. "Chaika" did not give up: Lev Salnikov sent the puck into the net with a wrist shot, and then Alexander Yatsenko scored with an assist from Sergey Skvortsov.

      Despite the attempt to come back, the match ended with a victory for "Loko" — 5:4.

      The second match of the semifinal series will take place on April 26 in Yaroslavl at the MFSK "Lokomotiv" ice rink.
