A woman from Nizhny Novgorod bought a driver's license and became a suspect in a criminal case.

      On April 25, 2026, at 17:56, Incidents In Shakhunya, traffic police officers discovered a fake driver's license belonging to a 42-year-old local resident. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region.

      During a raid in the settlement of Vakhtan, inspectors stopped a foreign car for document verification. It turned out that the vehicle was uninsured.

      The female driver was held administratively liable under part 2 of article 12.37 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation for the lack of mandatory insurance.

      When the officers began entering data into the database, it became apparent that the presented license was issued in the name of another person. The document was seized and sent for examination.

      Criminalists established that the license was made in a makeshift manner. During the interrogation, the woman admitted that she had never studied at a driving school. According to her, she bought the driver's license and a certificate of training from a stranger in Moscow for 80,000 rubles.

      A criminal case has been initiated under part 3 of article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for forgery and use of forged documents. The investigation is ongoing. The woman faces up to one year of imprisonment.
