On April 25, an Easter chess tournament among the teams of the parishes of the Nizhny Novgorod diocese took place at the House of Culture in the village of Krasnoe. In this intellectual duel, representatives from the Sarov, Diveevo, Arzamas district, and Arzamas city parishes, as well as the local team "Gorlitsa," faced off. The organization and professional oversight of the games were provided by chess referee of the III category Sergey Vialdin. Thanks to clear officiating, the tournament was held in an atmosphere of fair sports competition and mutual respect. As a result of the competitions, the first place was taken by the team of the Diveevo parish, the second by the parish of the city of Arzamas, and the third by "Gorlitsa." The assistant for physical culture and sports of the Arzamas district parish, archpriest Oleg Kurya, addressed the participants with welcoming and motivational words. He congratulated the chess players on the bright days of Easter, wishing them spiritual strength and further success in sports. The winners and prize-winners were awarded cups, medals, and honorary certificates. All participants in the competition also received sweet gifts.
