A criminal case has been initiated in the Pilninsky district against a driver who was repeatedly detained for driving under the influence of alcohol.

      Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate stopped a car on the Pylna - Kurmysh highway, driven by a 28-year-old resident of one of the villages in the Pylna municipal district. During the document check, signs of alcohol intoxication were detected in the driver, which was confirmed by a medical examination. During further investigation, the police established that this man had previously been held administratively liable for a similar offense under part 2 of article 12.26 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (failure to comply with a legal requirement for a medical examination for intoxication). Since the violation was committed again, the driver's actions fall under the signs of a crime provided for by part 1 of article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (driving a vehicle while intoxicated by a person subjected to administrative punishment). The maximum penalty under this article is up to two years of imprisonment with a ban on holding certain positions for up to three years. The offender's car was seized and placed in a specialized parking lot. The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds: driving a vehicle while intoxicated is not an administrative offense, but a criminal offense!
