According to the regional State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, there were 80 such traffic accidents in the first two months of 2026. In these accidents, 8 people died, and another 116 were injured. To reduce the number of such incidents and improve road safety, an operational preventive event called "Technical Malfunction" will take place in the Nizhny Novgorod region on April 27. During the raids, inspectors will check the condition of the steering system, braking system, and external lighting devices.
