The Teacher of the Year has been chosen in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On April 25, 2026, at 10:51, Society In Nizhny Novgorod, the results of the regional stage of the All-Russian "Teacher of the Year" competition were announced. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Education. The winner was Roman Smirnov, a chemistry and biology teacher at School No. 118 in Nizhny Novgorod. According to him, participating in the competition was an important stage in his professional journey. "The competition is a long path, a path of achievements, self-development, and friendship. And it has been completed. My main approach is to connect chemistry with real life. When explaining with the example of baking soda and vinegar, the children become open and engaged. For me, my calling is to be in dialogue with them. The recognition of students is more important than any competition," he shared. The regional Minister of Education, Mikhail Puchkov, congratulated the winner and finalists and presented them with awards. "Being a teacher is the strength and meaning of the spoken word, attention to detail, and fidelity to one's path. It is colossal work, multiplied by experience and deep knowledge. But at the core of it all lies the ability to love people. All of this is about our best teacher in Nizhny Novgorod region for 2026," noted the minister, wishing Roman Smirnov success in the finals of the all-Russian competition.
