May Day in Nizhny Novgorod will take place without a communist march.

      On April 23, 2026, at 12:17, Politics: The Nizhny Novgorod communists were denied permission to hold a rally in Lenin Square on May 1. They were also not allowed to organize a car rally through the city streets, as reported by the press service of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Party.

      Let us remind you that in 2024, the communists were denied permission to hold a march due to anti-terrorism security measures. Prior to that, demonstrations had not been held for several years due to COVID restrictions.

      It was previously reported that the authorities had reduced the number of officially permitted venues for holding rallies and other public events.
