      On April 22, 2026, at 10:11, Society In Nizhny Novgorod, at the site of the Public Support Headquarters of the United Russia party, Russian senators Darya Lantratova and Svetlana Kirillova held a round table on issues of comprehensive support for military personnel and their families. The event took place as part of the "Social Route. Mobile Senator" project and brought together representatives of federal and regional authorities, leaders of relevant public organizations and funds, as well as wives and mothers of participants in the special military operation (SMO). Opening the meeting, Darya Lantratova emphasized the importance of such field meetings: "The 'Social Route. Mobile Senator' project carries a vital mission - to ensure continuous and honest communication between the legislative authority and the families of our heroes. Protecting the rights, as well as expanding benefits and social guarantees for participants in the special military operation and their loved ones, is our absolute priority. It is critically important for us to hear from mothers and wives directly to understand how federal initiatives work on the ground and where our prompt assistance is needed."

      As part of the business program, participants discussed a wide range of relevant topics. The chairman of the Legislative Assembly Committee of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Vladimir Pakov, addressed issues of benefits and guarantees for SMO participants. Reports were also presented on the work of key regional structures: the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the "Defenders of the Fatherland" Fund and the Nizhny Novgorod Committee of Families of Warriors of the Fatherland. Special attention was paid to the work of regional coordination structures. "Our coordination center acts as a single window of assistance for the families of military personnel and those mobilized in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Our goal is not just to route requests but to provide complete, individual support for each family, whether it concerns legal issues, social needs, or psychological support. We are always nearby and ready to help in any life situation," noted Tatiana Druzhinina, Deputy General Director and Head of the Coordination Center for Supporting Military Personnel, Mobilized Individuals, and Their Families at the House of National Unity.

      In addition, participants discussed issues related to the reintegration of veterans into civilian life. The head of the employment organization department of the Ministry of Demography and Human Capital Development of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Alena Minlebaeva, spoke about the employment of SMO participants and their family members, while the curator of the support direction for SMO participants of the public council of the federal party project "Women's Movement of United Russia" in the Nizhny Novgorod region, Yaroslav Lapkovskaya, emphasized sports as a key tool for social adaptation. A significant initiative that emerged during the round table was the proposal to create a roadmap for providing assistance to women left without a primary breadwinner. This topic was raised by the mother of an SMO participant, Karina Al-Tbakhi.

      As previously noted by the coordinator of the "Care for Every Needy" direction of the People's Program of the United Russia party, Vice-Speaker of the Federation Council Inna Svyatenko, "The 'Social Route. Mobile Senator' is a unique parliamentary project that has proven its effectiveness in addressing the issues of residents and regions. Thanks to the senators working on the route who are responsible for different areas of the social sphere, we manage to cover a wide range of topics and respond promptly to the needs of the regions." According to her, this year, the key topics of meetings and discussions will be demographic policy, employment, and support for SMO participants. Parliamentarians will familiarize themselves with the activities of regional branches of the Moscow Prosthetic and Orthopedic Enterprise, as well as study rehabilitation and adaptation programs for SMO veterans. Special attention will be paid to the development of adaptive sports.
