Festival INTERVALS-2026 in Nizhny Novgorod: map and full program

      On April 22, 2026, at 10:43, the poster announces that from April 23 to 26, the INTERVALS 2026 festival (0+) will take place in Nizhny Novgorod. Over four days, various parts of the city will host a multimedia exhibition in the open air, educational meetings, concerts, and audiovisual performances. The city will become a space for multimedia exhibitions, concerts, AV performances, and educational programs. The festival is supported by the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the ANO "Center 800". This year's theme is "Sign/Symbol".

      Locations and operating hours

      This year, the program is once again structured as a route through 23 city locations—from iconic architectural objects to less obvious spaces. Installations will appear on building facades as well as inside cultural venues. Among the outdoor locations are the A.M. Sakharov Academy of Light, the Chkalov Stairs, Strelka, the Nizhnevolzhskaya Embankment, Sverdlov Square, the Sergievsky Ravine, the courtyard of "Nizhpoligraf", Alexander Garden, the facade of the "Garantia" bank, the reservoirs of the former Sormovskaya oil depot, the media facade of the Ice Arena, and other points. The indoor program will take place at the Nizhny Novgorod Fair, Pakhauss, MediaHall, the CSI "Terminal A", Arsenal (Volga-Vyatka branch of the A.S. Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts), "Protected Quarters", the "Record" Cultural Center, and the Zelensky Congress. Indoor venues operate from 12:00 to 23:00, while outdoor venues are mainly open from 20:00 to 23:00 (some sites open at 18:00).

      Artists and projects

      The festival features Russian and foreign media artists: Quayola (Italy), Josep Poblet (Spain), Saeed Gebaan (Saudi Arabia), mammasONica (Italy), SKGPLUS (China), Dominic Kießling (Germany), Filip Roca (Spain), as well as PANTERRA, Sasha Kojjio, OUROBOROS, dreamlaser, re4ee, KBDUKE, Anton Morokov, Denis Astakhov, and others. Among the projects are Quayola's video installation at Pakhauss, PANTERRA's sculptural work CHRONOMORPH at the Nizhny Novgorod Fair, Saeed Gebaan's light installation Sun Candle at the CSI "Terminal A", Josep Poblet's kinetic work Lux Domus at the Zelensky Congress, the audiovisual installation "Architecton" by the KBDUKE studio at Arsenal, mappings on the facade of the A.M. Sakharov Academy and Chkalov Stairs, as well as projects in public spaces and industrial zones.

      Music program

      Musical events will take place in the CEХ* space. On April 23 at 21:00, the opening concert directed by choreographer Vladimir Varnava will take place, featuring the choir Attaque de panique and Gruppa Varnava. On April 25 at 22:00, the NIGHT MUSIC PROGRAM (18+) is scheduled, with performances by GLUM, Symbol, Husky, Metro Station Gorkovskaya, Yang Bing, and Kirill Shapovalov.

      AV performances

      On April 24 and 25, AV performances will be held at the Concert Pakhauss. The program includes performances by 404.zero, digital moss, Shihua Ma, and arthew0.

      Educational program

      The educational block will take place on April 25 and 26 at the A.M. Sakharov Academy. The program will bring together more than 20 experts—artists, producers, curators, business representatives, and educational institutions—for lectures, discussions, public talks, and workshops. The program is divided into three areas: artistic practices, industry and partnerships, theory and context.

      Intensives and workshops are also planned, including classes on architectural mapping using AI, DIY synthesizer creation, game mechanics in TouchDesigner, and robotics.

      How to get there

      Admission to the city multimedia exhibition is free. Educational events are available by prior registration. Concerts, AV performances, and individual events require tickets.
