      A new group of volunteers from various regions of Russia has headed to military service at a training center for operators of unmanned aerial systems from the Nizhny Novgorod selection point. Among the group is a volunteer from Sevastopol with the call sign "Bakh." He reported that he already has several professions and decided to master a new direction. According to him, his desire to protect his family motivated him to participate in the special military operation. "My family lives in the center of Crimea. We see drone arrivals from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Once my nine-year-old son saw another attack and was very scared. That's when I realized I had to protect my family," the volunteer said. Another member of the group is a resident of Irkutsk with the call sign "Sova." He noted that he intends to undergo full training and hopes to cope with the assigned tasks. The contract with the unmanned systems unit is for one year. For servicemen who sign a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense from April 1, 2026, a one-time payment of 2.1 million rubles is provided. The monthly salary ranges from 210,000 rubles. Additional payments for combat merits and the destruction of enemy weapons and equipment are also established—up to 500,000 rubles. Those who sign military contracts are issued certificates for the provision of land plots in the Nizhny Novgorod region. A mechanism for military social contracts operates in the Nizhny Novgorod region, providing a monthly payment of 10,000 rubles for each child in the contractor's family, benefits for housing and utility payments, preschool services, and other support measures. Individual support for the serviceman's family is also provided. The dispatch of residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region to their place of service is ensured by the coordination center for supporting servicemen, mobilized individuals, and their families based at the House of National Unity. The region continues to send humanitarian cargoes to the area of the special military operation.
