The administration of the Gorodetsky district is once again striving for the repair of the dam in Zinyaki.

      April 20, 2026 14:49 Society The authorities of the Gorodets district continue to strive for the reconstruction of the dam on the Sanda River near the village of Zinyaki. This was reported by the IA "Vremya N" citing the deputy head of the district Ivan Vytnikov. According to him, the administration is reaching out to all possible instances that could influence the situation: to the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Rosimushchestvo, and the Federal Agency for Water Resources. Letters were sent last year, and now they are being sent again to finally determine the owner of the structure and officially assign it to a specific entity. At the same time, the authorities plan to go to court again, clarifying and changing the claims. The situation remains complicated because the hydraulic structure is listed as federal property. The court has already twice denied the transfer of the object to the municipality. Because of this, local authorities cannot start repairs or allocate budget funds for it. As Vytnikov noted, the object effectively remains without proper management, which could lead to problems both during flooding and in normal periods. The dam has been in poor condition for many years. It lacks a lifting mechanism that should regulate the position of the gate and sluice depending on the water level.
