No one has come forward to install turnstiles in the Nizhny Novgorod metro for 57 million.

      On April 20, 2026, at 12:31, Society reported that new turnstiles are planned to be installed at the "Moscow" and "Zarechnaya" stations, as stated on the government procurement website.

      At the "Moscow" station, the turnstiles will be updated in two vestibules. The first vestibule will have 10 turnstiles for entry and six for exit, while the second will have 11 for entry and 12 for exit.

      At the "Zarechnaya" station, turnstiles will also appear in two vestibules, but only for passenger exit: four devices in each.

      The equipment is expected to be a unified system of high-speed electromechanical flap turnstiles and control devices. They must be compatible with the existing automated fare collection system (ASKOP) and support various payment methods: transport and bank cards, contactless carriers, QR codes, NFC tags, as well as biometric identification by face.

      The delivery of the complexes must be completed within three months from the date of contract signing. Installation must be carried out within 10 working days, and commissioning works within five.

      The customer for the work is the MP "Nizhny Novgorod Metro." The initial contract price is 57.6 million rubles. Applications for the competition were accepted until April 17. Since no proposals were received, the competition was declared unsuccessful. It is likely to be announced again after some time.

      Let us remind you that the upgrade of access devices in the Nizhny Novgorod metro began last year at the "Zarechnaya" station. It was previously reported that most of the existing turnstiles were manufactured back in 1973.
