The preparation of the metro construction pit has reached a new level.

      The preparation of the starting pit near the "Gorkovskaya" station, from where the tunneling of two tunnels towards Freedom Square will soon begin, has entered a new phase. This was reported by the Nizhny Novgorod metro. At the construction site, 18,000 cubic meters of soil have already been excavated, and 311 tons of metal structures have been installed to reinforce the walls. Now the workers have started with the monolithic works – over 115 cubic meters of concrete sub-base have already been laid in the area. The metro builders need to pour another 975 cubic meters of concrete to form the concrete trough and complete the framework, which will require 123 tons of metal. The workers are already laying the "first concrete" for the trough, and then they will begin to form the bed on which the tunnel boring machines will be installed.

      Earlier, the website pravda-nn.ru reported that 8,000 boreholes were drilled by the metro builders at Freedom Square in Nizhny Novgorod.
