April 17, 2026 12:30 Society The Nizhny Novgorod region has entered the top 25 regions of Russia, where residents are most actively monitoring airline websites, tracking discounts, and promptly booking tickets ahead of the May holidays. Such data is provided in a joint study by MegaFon and the ticket booking service "KupiBilet." According to the mobile operator, at the beginning of April, the traffic for searching airline tickets in the region increased sixfold compared to the figures at the beginning of the year. A particular surge in activity is observed in the second half of the month, when the volume of requests exceeded the average daily figures by 1.5 times. The main trend for this year's May holidays, according to "KupiBilet," has become Kaliningrad, which topped the ranking of the most popular domestic destinations. The classic resorts of Sochi and Mineralnye Vody also made it into the top three. Among foreign destinations, Istanbul emerged as the undisputed favorite. Antalya and Nha Trang also made it into the top three. There is a real boom in interest in Asian destinations: they account for 37% of all bookings. In addition to Vietnam, residents of the country are actively considering flights to Tokyo, Shanghai, and Beijing. The most expensive flights were purchased for routes to Tokyo, with prices reaching 89,000 rubles. The most budget-friendly options for travel have become domestic destinations: flights to St. Petersburg and Kazan. Ticket prices for these routes range around 9,000 rubles, making them accessible to a wide range of travelers. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
