      On the eve of 2026, a charitable project "New Year - New Me" was launched at the "TONUS PREMIUM" plastic surgery center, within which a patient is provided with a free plastic surgery. The first surgical intervention was successful: doctors removed about 4 kilograms of skin.

      According to Olga Mikhaleva, the general director of the "Tonus" clinic network, the idea was to help a person change their quality of life through changes in appearance for the New Year.

      The selection process was conducted in the format of a competition: participants shared personal stories and explained why they needed this surgery. In the final, 15 applications were selected. However, the case of 39-year-old Tatyana turned out to be the most complex in terms of the volume of the upcoming intervention.

      The woman's weight fluctuated between 128 and 59 kg at different periods of her life. After the death of her husband last year, with whom she had lived for over 20 years, Tatyana began to gain weight again due to emotional overeating. After another weight loss, pronounced excess skin formed.

      Nikolai Mitrofanov, head of the Plastic Surgery Center, candidate of medical sciences, and associate professor at the PIMU department, explained that for long-standing body deformations, it is safer and more effective to perform major interventions sequentially. According to him, an excessive number of simultaneous surgeries can increase risks and complicate recovery.

      As plastic surgeon Yuri Grochev explained, the first stage included torso-abdominoplasty with femoroplasty – correction of the abdomen and back with thigh lifting. The operation lasted seven hours and forty minutes and was classified as a third-category complexity intervention. About four kilograms of tissue were removed, and approximately three meters of sutures were applied.

      The patient is currently undergoing the recovery phase. According to Olga Sinitsina, head of the rehabilitation department and physiotherapist, the main task is to reduce swelling, restore sensitivity, and create conditions for complete tissue healing.

      Already after the first operation, the patient feels more confident. The rehabilitation process is challenging, but it is worth it, as the ultimate goal is to have the body of her dreams!

      "When you decide to undergo such an operation, you no longer even think about overeating emotions. You change yourself and your lifestyle. Now it’s only proper nutrition and sports. Not like before: I lose weight – I gain weight, I wanted something – I broke down and quit sports. There is a reevaluation of values. By choosing yourself, you are already moving in the right direction," Tatyana shared.

      In the future, the patient will undergo another major surgical intervention, but not earlier than in 4-6 months. It will affect the upper half of the body – the chest and shoulders. If necessary, additional corrective surgeries may be possible, but the final volume will be determined based on the healing results.
