New rabies outbreaks found in the Nizhny Novgorod region

The rabies focus has been identified in the personal subsidiary farm of citizen Safronov M.A. This decree is in effect for legal relations that arose from April 9, 2026. During the quarantine in the epizootic focus, the treatment of sick susceptible animals, visits to the territory by outsiders, except for specialists and residents, as well as the movement and regrouping of animals and the removal of skins from their carcasses are prohibited. In addition, hunting is banned, except for activities aimed at regulating the population of hunting resources. The import and export of susceptible animals are restricted. Export is allowed only if vaccination against rabies has been carried out within 179 calendar days prior to shipment, including for slaughter at specialized enterprises or equipped points. Within the boundaries of the unfavorable points, fairs, exhibitions, and other events related to the gathering of animals are prohibited, as well as the capture of wild animals for their export to zoos.
