The Nizhny Novgorod prosecutor's office has begun an investigation following the death of a 4-year-old child.

      On April 17, 2026, at 15:28, Incidents: The Nizhny Novgorod Prosecutor's Office has taken control of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a minor child in a fire in the Sechenovsky district, the agency's press service reported.

      It is worth noting that the tragedy occurred on April 17 in the village of Murzitsy in the Sechenovsky district. A private wooden house caught fire there. Two minor children were taken to the hospital. A 4-year-old boy died, while the second child continues to receive medical assistance.

      All circumstances of the incident are currently being established. The prosecutor of the Sechenovsky district, Galina Shestakova, visited the scene of the incident.

      The investigation into the criminal case initiated for causing death by negligence is under the control of the prosecutor's office.

      It was previously reported that Bastrykin became interested in the violation of children's rights in Nizhny Novgorod.
