Conscripts from the Nizhny Novgorod region have begun service in the Northern Fleet.

      The first team of the spring draft of 2026 from Nizhny Novgorod has arrived at the base in Severomorsk. The first group of draftees for the spring campaign of 2026 has arrived at the main base of the Northern Fleet in Severomorsk. Among the recruits are residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region. After arriving, the young servicemen were sent to the reception and distribution point of the Northern Fleet's management support center. There, they undergo medical examinations and acceptance-technical commissions, based on the results of which their fitness for service is determined. According to the Northern Fleet, draftees from the Nizhny Novgorod region and other regions will not be involved in the special military operation. After completing all procedures, they will be assigned to fleet units. Recruits may be sent to the Kola Flotilla, mixed aviation corps, coastal units, and material-technical support divisions. The decision is made based on the results of the commissions and training. The preferences of the draftees regarding service are already known. Many of them express a desire to join the separate guards brigade of marines. It is worth noting that the spring draft will cover about 2,700 residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
