Gleb Nikitin discussed with Yevgeny Chintsov the support for participants of the special military operation.

      April 13, 2026 18:53 Politics The Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region, Secretary of the regional branch of the "United Russia" party, Gleb Nikitin, held a meeting with the Chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod Duma, Evgeny Chintsov. The main topic of discussion was the support for participants of the Special Military Operation (SMO).

      Let us remind you that the regional leader has been Chintsov's mentor for two years in the federal personnel program "Time of Heroes," implemented at the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.

      "We have come a long way together. Being your mentor is a special responsibility and a serious challenge. I see from our joint events that this experience has been very beneficial for you," said the governor, adding that Chintsov coordinates support for fighters at the city level and assists the regional government in this area.

      Nikitin also emphasized that Chintsov received support from residents in the elections and is currently actively working on the patriotic education of youth and assistance to veterans of the SMO.

      For his part, Chintsov mentioned that the project "Social District Officer," in which he serves as a coordinator, helped him better understand the requests of residents. He thanked the governor for supporting initiatives and mentorship.

      Special attention at the meeting was given to the project "Unity – the Path to Victory," submitted for the "Service" award in the nomination "From the Frontline of the SMO – to the Municipality." The project is aimed at eighth-graders in schools in Nizhny Novgorod and has been implemented for the second year. This year, schools from the Kstovo district joined it.

      "We guide the kids through an interactive route, introducing them to heroes — Minin and Pozharsky, the history of the Great Patriotic War, and the SMO," Chintsov reported, adding that the project has already been presented in other regions, where the possibility of its replication is being considered.

      He also spoke about the creation of a sports club for combat veterans. In it, veterans of various conflicts and their family members can engage in sports for free. The project has been implemented at one of the sports centers in Nizhny Novgorod, has shown demand, and is developing with the support of the regional Ministry of Sports.

      Additionally, Chintsov reported that he plans to defend his qualification work in May as part of the "Time of Heroes" program. He has completed four in-person training modules and participated in regional internships.

      "Overall, I believe that the training has yielded good results and allowed me to establish systematic work. I am ready to further develop these areas and scale successful practices," stated the speaker of the municipal parliament.

      Let us add that today Evgeny Chintsov himself is a mentor — he has taken under his wing a participant in the program "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region." In a conversation with the governor, he noted that in working with his mentee, he relies on Gleb Nikitin's approach: "I give the mentee the opportunity to choose the directions of internships themselves and try themselves in different fields."
